    Hello, i have recently had a problem on my laptop where my f keys don't work on minecraft and theres a really easy thing to do to fix it you only need 1 step!
    1.When you press the f key it should do its normal job like 'play' or 'rewind' or turn the brightness down but we don't want these so press the FN button that is on the bottom left of your keyboard next to ctrl hold fn and press anyone of these:
    F1-Toggle Heads Up display
    F2-Take screen shot
    F3-Toggle debug information showing
    (Pressing S while holding F3 will reload all web-loaded client resources.)
    (Pressing T while holding F3 will reload all textures.)
    (Pressing F while holding F3 will change render distance.)
    (Holding Shift while pressing F3 and F will reverse the fog toggling.)
    F5-Toggle between 1st person, 3rd person and 3rd person from front.
    F8-Toggles cinematic mode.
    F10-Unfocuses the game.
    F11-Toggles Fullscreen.

    Let me start by saying that not everyone has the FN key. If you have this key, then you must hold it before pressing a function key. FN actually stands for function itself and is used to tell the computer/PC/laptop/Mac that you're going to be running a function, and not using the alternate option.

    Use standard function keys

    Standard function keys work differently depending on the app and the keyboard shortcuts that you've set up. Some apps have their own keyboard shortcut preferences that you can customize.
    To use the standard function keys, hold the Fn (Function) key when pressing a function key. For example, pressing both Fn and F12 (speaker icon) performs the action assigned to the F12 key instead of raising the volume of your speakers.
    If your keyboard doesn’t have an Fn key, try pressing and holding the Control key when pressing a function key.

    If you don't see 'Use F1, F2, etc. keys as standard function keys', you might be using a keyboard not made by Apple. These keyboards might need a utility to change the keyboard functions. Check with your keyboard manufacturer for more information.
